exxis is a multi-line reinsurer within the Ecclesia Group. We develop, underwrite, and manage insurance solutions for complex risks—with the goal of ensuring that portfolios remain insurable in the long term, economically stable, and operationally manageable. As the Ecclesia Group’s reinsurer, we handle key functions throughout the value chain.

Membership in the Ecclesia Group
exxis is part of the Ecclesia Group, one of the largest insurance brokers for businesses and institutions in Germany and Europe. With over 2,400 employees and an annual premium volume of approximately three billion euros, the Group boasts strong market penetration, purchasing power, and an excellent network.

Our role in the market
As an insurance arranger, exxis handles the underwriting design, underwriting, and day-to-day management of insurance programs on behalf of the participating insurers.
The brokerage firms of the Ecclesia Group operate as legally independent insurance brokers and are not subject to any operational or substantive dependence on exxis’ underwriting and operational decisions.
This strict functional and legal separation ensures regulatory compliance, clear responsibilities, and a transparent governance structure for insurers, brokers, and regulatory authorities.
